The Future of the Asia Pacific: Andrea Hirata, Loretta Napoleoni, Tim Soutphommasane
ADELAIDE WRITERS' WEEK - TUESDAY, MARCH 5 2013
Indonesia/Italy/Australia
East Stage, 5pm
Since the Bali bombings Indonesia has turned from holiday destination to potentially sinister outpost. China’s monster economy is seen as our saviour. Immigrants from Asia continue to arrive, and our politicians continue to bicker. This panel brings together novelist Andrea Hirata, economist Loretta Napeoni and writer Tim Soutphommasane for a conversation about the relationships between the Pacific nations – including our own.
Highlights from this session will be tweeted live by SA's prolific arts and cultural tweeters. Search for #AdlWW on Twitter.
