One of those moments when the cogs of your mind shift, and your life is irreversibly changed forever

Nick Cave on The Pop Group

Post-punk provocateurs The Pop Group were fast, hard and blindingly short lived. In their fleeting career from 1978-1980 the band exploded from their early DIY-ethic into full-blown socio-political heroes, developing a reputation for anarchic live shows and wide-reaching influence. With unfinished business and an opportunity to cause further commotion apparent, The Pop Group are now enjoying the golden years of reformation and album re-issues in their full original line-up.

With this performance marking their first ever Australian appearance, The Pop Group prove that all the spirit and incandescence of their original material is still blazingly intact.

Stream Citizen Zombie, the title track from The Pop Group's first studio album in 35 years - due for release on 25 February 2015.

Opened by the world premiere performance of a new collaboration between Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes), Simon Barker (acclaimed jazz drummer) and local choreographer and dancer Ade Suharto.
