Adelaide Festival Scores Five Helpmann Nominations

 
This year's Adelaide Festival productions of Le Grand Macabre, The London Sinfonietta and Be Yourself have secured five nominations in the 2010 national Helpmann Awards. The nominations were amongst 42 which were announced in various categories in Sydney and Melbourne last night. Adelaide Festival's nominations are in the categories of Opera and Classical Music and Dance and Physical Theatre:

Best Male Dancer in a Dance or Physical Theatre Work Kimball Wong ‐ Be Your Self Australian Dance Theatre in association with Adelaide Festival & Adelaide Festival Centre

Best Female Dancer in a Dance or Physical Theatre Work Tara Soh ‐ Be Your Self Australian Dance Theatre in association with Adelaide Festival & Adelaide Festival Centre

The annual Helpmann Awards recognise distinguished artistic achievement and excellence in the many disciplines of Australia's vibrant live performance sectors. The 2010 Helpmann Awards, presented by Live Performance Australia, will be announced at the Sydney Opera House on 6 September.
