Anthony Marwood performs in intimate dialogue with a small ensemble from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Beethoven’s Septet has been hugely popular from the moment it was written (so much so that the composer came to begrudge its existence). It represents the height of classical elegance, combined with the invention and wit of Beethoven in his prime. The concert begins with Henri Tomasi’s Fanfare liturgiques, a curtain-raiser for brass and percussion.
