Australia
An exhibition two decades in the making, presenting seminal works by Khaled Sabsabi, Australia’s representative at the 2026 Venice Biennale. Spanning every gallery of the Samstag Museum of Art, it brings together new and previously unseen works by one of Australia’s most thoughtful artists.
Across moving image, paintings, drawings and installations, Sabsabi explores our societal sense of the collective while questioning ideologies and identity politics in an image-saturated age. Drawing on 35 years of work within communities and more than two decades of exhibiting internationally, his practice reflects moments of connection in the everyday, the philosophical and the spiritual.
Personal, timely and deeply human, Solitude invites reflection, interaction and a deeper understanding of the forces shaping our shared human experience.
