Australia
Guildhouse possesses an irreplaceable record of South Australia’s visual art, craft and design history and the activities, people, groups and organisations who have defined it.
To mark Guildhouse’s 60th anniversary year, South Australian artist Nat Penney has been commissioned to engage with the collection, and in response, develop a new body of work for exhibition. Penney’s practice combines processes from timber furniture making and metal fabrication with found and formed objects, to consider the sensory desires in things, looking for subconscious object impulses.
The Guildhouse Collections Project – 60 Year Archive offers an unparalleled insight into a beloved South Australian arts organisation, and the many thousands of artists who have contributed to the cultural vibrancy of our state.
