Stereopublic
Crowdsourcing the Quiet
Australian Premiere / TEDPrize City 2.0 winner
Australia
How can you be alone in a city full of noise? Stereopublic finds calm within chaos as part of a TEDPrize-winning City 2.0 project to locate quiet places in our cities. A guide for those who crave a retreat from the crowds, Stereopublic needs your help as an Adelaide earwitness to find places of accidental retreat in the built environment. Details on how to contribute to the sound map will be available here from Friday, March 1, 2013. And shush.
Silent Launch
Friday, March 8, 10am – 10.30am
In the beautifully hushed and ornate space that is the Mortlock Chamber of the State Library of South Australia, you are invited to gather in a silent crowd as Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood officially and quietly launches Stereopublic. No speaking, no fanfare, no hors d'oeuvres, this may be the quietest launch you ever attend.
