2023 – 2025

The Adelaide Festival is looking for a dynamic literary programmer to provide the vision and curatorial leadership to direct this iconic annual event, presented as part of the Adelaide Festival. 

Founded in 1960, Adelaide Writers’ Week is one of the most highly regarded literary festivals in the world. Showcasing an always extraordinary range of minds and voices, a unique parkland setting and brilliant autumn weather, Adelaide Writers’ Week is beloved by all who attend. Its program of public readings, talks and debates involving writers from Australia and across the globe, is predominantly free to the public, attracting thousands each year.

The Director will, through their programming, continue to build on the event’s local, national and international profile with writers, publishers, audiences and other literary peers and stakeholders. This role is responsible for initiating and developing the Adelaide Writers’ Week program, leading and working with a small team to produce and deliver all aspects of the event within the approved budget, and aligned with the Adelaide Festival’s strategic plan and organisational values.

We are on the hunt for our new Logistics Administrator, who will work within the Programming team to co-ordinate and deliver logistical aspects within the 2022 Festival program: from artist contracting, travel bookings, visas, scheduling itineraries and ground transport to artist minding, no two days will be the same!

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and collaborative person, with sound organisational and communications skills, a keen eye for detail and a positive, can do attitude. Previous experience in arts Festivals and large events is highly regarded.

Part of the Business Development team, the Functions Coordinator is the main point of contact for all official Adelaide Festival functions and is responsible for delivering events inline with Adelaide Festival and venue-specific Covid Management Plans. You will need to be an admin and organisation gun, dealing with database and project-management implementation and upkeep, contact list upkeep, financial administration and invoicing and assisting the Sponsorship Coordinator with client ticketing administration.
