Paul Laffoley

Worlds in Collision: Adelaide International 2014

For over 50 years, Paul Laffoley’s paintings, models and journals have consistently defied easy art historical categorization. Working in what can be termed a “transdisciplinary practice”, Laffoley engages in a broad swath of disciplines including classical literature, science and science fiction equally, the histories of art as well as architecture, and the natural as well as occult sciences.

The resulting works analyse as well as propose alternative ways to understand and rethink the complex world that surrounds us. Known as one of the foremost visionary artists of our time, his work has been recently featured at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, the Hamburger Bahnhoff, Berlin, the Henry Art Gallery, Seattle, the Hayward Gallery in London, and the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco.
