With a Little Help from my Friends or A Change Is Gonna Come? What was the soundtrack of change that played in Australian minds in 1967 as they cast a near unanimous “yes” to remove racist clauses from the Australian Constitution? At 90.77% in favour, the largest ‘yes’ vote in the history of Australian referenda was the culmination of a decade of hard slog by pioneering Aboriginal activists and their allies.

Now, in the tradition of the hugely popular Black Arm Band concerts, comes an anniversary celebration of our own civil rights movement. Stirring anthems of struggle, joy, protest and reflection inspired by the referendum are sung by a new generation of indigenous performers against an epic backdrop of archival footage.

Thelma Plum, Leah Flanagan, Radical Son, Adalita, Yirrmal, William Barton, Ursula Yovich, ARIA Award winner Dan Sultan and more will carry the old flame and fan tomorrow’s fire with renewed moral energy.

Note: Due to personal reasons, Stephen Pigram is unfortunately unavailable to perform as part of 1967. We are sure that fans will join us in wishing him the best.
