Les Murray

Les Murray is one of Australia’s most iconic writers, and one of the English language’s great contemporary poets. Murray’s long publishing career has seen him publish some 30 books in Australia and translated into 18 languages. His titles include Killing the Black Dog, Fredy Neptune, The Biplane Houses and most recently Taller When Prone. Murray has won many literary awards, including the Grace Leven Prize, the Petrarch Prize , and the prestigious TS Eliot Award (1996). In 1999 he was awarded the Queens Gold Medal for Poetry on the recommendation of Ted Hughes.
