Curated by David Sefton and Mat Schulz

Some of the most influential figures in noise, drone and experimental music come together to open the third instalment of Unsound Adelaide. Lawrence English, recently described as “one of ambient music’s modern masters” by FACT Magazine, explores a physical and dark sound, while Container’s maxed-out drum patterns, spiralling loops and mesmerising arrangements hover menacingly over minimal techno. Electronic composer, producer and musician Gazelle Twin, aka Elizabeth Bernholz, crafts intense industrial-pop, combining complex beats and electronic textures with chilling vocals. Headlining act and legends of the psychedelic underground Fushitsusha have built a formidable reputation for a powerful sound and stunning live show. Led by the charismatic founding father of the Japanese experimental rock scene, Keiji Haino, the recently reformed Tokyo band is equally influenced by noise, krautrock and improvisation.
