Hear me Roar!

Melbourne based Ren Alessandra is a poet, creative mentor and the 2020 Australian Poetry Slam Champion. Currently working on her first collection, Ren’s poetry explores her relationship with her self, her body and love in all its kaleidoscopic colours.

Hadley is a writer, poet and bookseller from Canberra/Brisbane/Sydney. He has performed his work at venues and events including the Cloncurry Merry Muster and Rodeo, Sydney Opera House, the Queensland Poetry Festival, and the Alice Springs Writers Festival, where a leather daddy nearly choked him to death with a fistful of Pavlova.

Rameen is a spoken word poet, chemical engineer and law student from Western Sydney. She is passionate about the intersection of technology and the arts in fostering meaningful representation and social justice. Rameen is an active member of the Bankstown Poetry Slam community and has featured at the Sydney Writers Festival, Sydney Biennale, VIVID Sydney, Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney Town Hall and Walt Disney Studios.

Chris is an Adelaide poet with an affinity for the natural world and a passion for art as an act of empathy. His writing tends to explore the intricacies of being human through metaphor and introspective storytelling.

Sarah Jane Justice is an award-winning spoken word artist, a published prose author and poet, and an accomplished musician and songwriter. With endless motivation and enthusiasm for all areas of her work, she is always working towards her next major project.

Jesse Oliver is a Burmese-Australian writer, poet, performer and producer from Boorloo, now based in Naarm. He was the 2017 Australian Poetry Slam Champion, and has performed his work internationally at major literary festivals. Jesse is also a passionate advocate for a new generation of young writers, holding roles as Co-Director and Co-Manager with the National Young Writers Festival, and CEO/GM for Express Media. Olenka Toroshenko is a Ukrainian Canadian artist, writer and producer whose life is in service to a saner, meaningful existence. She is a multidisciplinary performer whose mediums include spoken word poetry, dance, clown, song and ritual performance art.
