Tenzin Choegyal, the outstanding composer/performer who infuses his songs with his Tibetan lineage, has collaborated with Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass and, for over 10 years now, with the ever-innovative Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, led by Brendan Joyce. Together, Tenzin and five Camerata musicians present a program of sublime Tibetan songs interspersed with music by some exceptional Australian composers.

About Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra
Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra is a two-time Helpmann Award nominated ensemble and is known for their innovative and adventurous programming, thriving on collaborations with artists across a range of artforms, including Grammy-award nominated artist Tenzin Choegyal, AIR award-winning and ARIA-nominated Emily Wurramara, writer and actor Tama Matheson, The New York Times’ multi award-winning illustrator Peter Sis, and contemporary composer, Lembit Beecher.

Performing without a conductor, Camerata’s 19 Artistic Associates and guest artists take ownership of their music-making to form a refreshing and acclaimed voice that empowers artists, inspires audiences, and enriches communities through music.

Adelaide Festival is delighted to present Tenzin Choegyal and five Camerata musicians in this sublime concert that ends Chamber Landscapes 2022 in reverence and restoration.

About Tenzin Choegyal
Tenzin Choegyal is a Grammy-award nominated Tibetan/Australian artist, composer, activist, musical director and cultural ambassador. While proudly continuing the unbroken nomadic lineage which is central to his music, Tenzin regularly embraces opportunities to take his music into contemporary, uncharted territory, including collaborations and performances with Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra over the last ten years. Tenzin continues to unite the two worlds of Eastern and Western music in unique compositions, collaborations, and special cultural events.
