Important Information

The event plays rain or shine.
In the case of severe weather, please refer to the event page at 4pm on the day of the performance for final weather arrangements.

Picnic blankets and low event/beach chairs are permitted.
There are no seats provided for patrons.

BYO Drinks, alcohol and food is permitted – NO GLASS.
Limited catering onsite is available, we encourage you to bring your own food and drink.

There are no fireworks at this event.

What should I bring?

Suitable clothing for the weather conditions and outside event site location.

Where do I go?

The event site is located at Glenelg beach, north of the Jetty. A map will be provided in this space prior to the event.

There is one entrance gate, off Colley Terrace between Oaks Pier and Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club/Beach House.

Is the performance free or ticketed?

The performance is ticketed. We recommend pre-purchasing tickets to avoid disappointment.

How do I purchase tickets?

Onsite Box Office open from 6:30pm on each performance day. Tickets are subject to availability.

What time should I get there?

The event gates open at 6:30pm for guests to get comfortable on the sand prior to the performance starting at 8pm.

Is the event seated?

The event is general admission, and seating is not provided.

As Baleen Moondjan is located on the sand, we encourage guests to BYO rug, cushion or low chair, and to make themselves comfortable for the duration of the event.

Access

Where can I enter the event?

There is one entrance gate, off Colley Terrace between Oaks Pier and Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club/Beach House. Access also possible from via Mosley Square, head North along Holdfast Promenade.

Is there are accessible viewing area?

A raised viewing area is available, and accessible and companion tickets must be pre-purchased for this viewing area. Please contact access@adelaidefestival.com.au or call 1300 393 404 for any accessible seating enquiries.

Is there an accessibility drop off zone?

Yes. Via Chappell Drive between 6:30pm and 7:45pm and 9:15pm and 10pm.

Facilities

Can I purchase tickets on the day?

Subject to availability, there is an onsite box office, and tickets can be purchased from 6:30pm on performance days. The box office is positioned at the entrance and is cashless.

Are toilets available on site?

Temporary toilets (including access toilets) will be available on site.

Is there any catering, food and/or drinks?

There will be limited catering on site of a small selection of non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. Patrons are encouraged to support local hospitality traders before and after the event or BYO food and beverages (NO GLASS - this includes bottles as well as any food containers).

NO OPENED ALCOHOL CAN BE REMOVED FROM SITE, outside the event site it is a DRY ZONE.

Reusable water bottles are permitted but strictly no glass. There will be two free water refill stations available onsite.

Is there an ATM on site?

There are no ATMs on site. Please note our Box Office and catering sites will be cashless.

Is there First Aid on site?

There will be dedicated First Aid on site for the event as well as security to ensure a fun and safe experience to all guests. Refer to our Front of House staff if you need anything during the event.

What if I lose something during the event?

Please check at the Box Office during operational hours (6:30pm-10pm, Wed 28 Feb to Sat 2 Mar) or email info@adelaidefestival.com.au.

For Your Safety

Please note bag searches will be conducted upon entry. In order to enter quickly, we advise you travel light. Any recording, photography or filming of the performance is prohibited.

What am I NOT permitted to bring in?

NO GLASS - this includes bottles as well as any food containers
Umbrellas, tents or sunshades
Bikes (not inside the event but parking is available outside)
Pets (guide and assistance animals permitted)
Professional standard still or video cameras, audio recording devices and tripods.
Illicit substances
High Chairs, inflatable chairs, bean bags – any raised chairs
Weapons and knives
Fireworks, flares, sparklers or fire twirling equipment
Drones, remote control aircraft/cars
Beach inflatables

Can I go for a swim?

There is no swimming in the ocean within the event site.

Weather

What happens in case of extreme heat?

In case of temperatures of 36 degrees or over at the time gates open, temporary shades will be permitted onto site, but the use of tent pegs is strictly prohibited. All temporary shades must be dismantled at 7:30pm.

We also encourage that you take all precautions that you normally would during extreme heat – Slip, Slop, Slap and keep hydrated.

Will the outdoor event go ahead if it’s raining?

Event proceeds rain or shine. In the case of extreme weather, refer to the event page at 4pm on the day of the performance for final weather arrangements. If the performance cannot proceed, ticket refunds will be issued.

Getting there

Will there be somewhere to lock my bike?

Yes, we love to encourage cycling to events. Bikes are not allowed in the venue, however bike racks will be offered outside the entrance.

What public transport stops are the closest to the venue?

There are no train stations close by. A tram or bus is the best transport option.
