Your support, through our End of Financial Year Campaign, will help us build on the unique tradition that sets Adelaide Writers’ Week apart and makes it one of the most beloved events on our calendar.
With a budget of over $1.2 million to raise annually, and receiving only limited direct funding and a modest contribution from book sales and philanthropy, the majority (61%) of Adelaide Writers’ Week costs are currently underwritten by the Adelaide Festival.
Since 1960, this six day event of public readings, talks and discussions is an inspiring platform where Australian and International authors and passionate readers of all ages come together. It attracts enormous crowds at the Pioneer Women's Memorial Garden, is live streamed to community centres, libraries, aged care homes and schools across South Australia, as well as having selected sessions available to stream on demand from home.
Adelaide Festival’s long-term commitment is to present Adelaide Writers’ Week as a free event. In this world of tightening budgets limiting opportunities for continual improvement, we need your help: by making a tax-deductible donation, you enable us to deliver a writers’ festival of the highest calibre which offers an exciting program, caters for all ages and is free!
