Michael Cathcart

Michael Cathcart joined the ABC in 2000 as the presenter of Arts Today. He later presented the Famous Radio National Quiz, and has enjoyed several stints as a guest host on Bush Telegraph. Cathcart is passionate about water issues. He has a PhD in environmental history and is the author of The Water Dreamers (Text 2009), which explores how the lack of water has shaped Australian history. You may also know him from ABC TV, where he presented the history programs Rewind and Rogue. Cathcart’s other great passion is the theatre. He is married to the playwright Hannie Rayson.
