Cairo: Ahdaf Soueif & Parker Bilal

ADELAIDE WRITERS' WEEK - SATURDAY, MARCH 2 2013

Egypt/United Kingdom/Sudan/United Kingdom

East Stage, 5pm

Cairo is the largest city in the Arab world. It is a city of great wealth and even greater poverty, one that at this moment continues to struggle with its political future. Ahdaf Soueif has written about the city as both a novelist, Map of Love and as a political commentator, Cairo. Parker Bilal, a one time resident, explores Cairo’s dark heart in his mystery novels, The Golden Scales and Dogstar Rising. Join these two authors in conversation with Dominique Wilson.
